Indoor climbing
We recommend the 1,200 m² climbing hall at Club Kitzsteinhorn to all indoor climbing fans. The hall is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. In the climbing hall you can boulder on 350 m² and you will find climbing possibilities as well as a high ropes course.

“Steinerne Meer”
As a change from the climbing area in Zell am See-Kaprun, we recommend an exciting via ferrata near Saalfelden. The “Persailhorn Süd” via ferrata (on the south side of the Persailhorn) has a medium level of difficulty and some very steep passages await you. Once at the top you are at the summit of the Persailhorn (2347 m). You will definitely not regret the ascent, because an idyllic all-round view of the “Steinerne Meer” with striking rock formations is revealed. It is best to park at the Bachwinkl car park in Saalfelden. You walk to the Peter Wiechentaler Hut (walking time approx. 2 hours) and there you will find the entry point to the via ferrata.
Another exciting via ferrata in the area is the “Leoganger Süd”. Ideally, park at the “Passauerhütte” parking lot. Take a leisurely hike to the Passauer Hut and watch out for the via ferrata sign. From the Passauer Hut you walk for about 20 minutes to the entrance point. On the “Leoganger Süd” via ferrata you climb challenging climbing sections in steep terrain. You should definitely have climbing experience for this via ferrata, because the area is too demanding for beginners. When you reach the top, you can even see the Glockner Group. In addition to the usual via ferrata equipment, you also need 2 quickdraws.
