You may wonder what awaits you for your summer holiday in Austria. There are indeed endless opportunities for active recreation: for example, a climb to the summit of the “Kitzsteinhorn” mountain (3,029 metres) or an enjoyable walk to the top of the wonderful “Schmittenhöhe” hill, the first mountain in Austria to be dedicated to art and culture. Pleasures on two Wheels

When hearing the word “Pinzgau”, you will first of all justifiably think of winter sports. However, you should not forget cycling and mountain biking, since the “Pinzgau” county is one of the major cycling areas in the Alps, providing about 1,150 kilometres of cycle trails and mountain bike routes of varying difficulty to suit all tastes and physical abilities, whether you prefer electric bicycle rides, mountain biking or downhill rides.

Make Your Way Over Hill and Dale …

Whether you prefer challenging climbs or leisurely walks on level grounds, the “Pinzgau” area can suit all tastes. There are countless walking routes on the shores of the artificial lakes in Kaprun, across the “Hohe Tauern” National Park, on the slopes of “Schmittenhöhe” hill and to the summit of the “Kitzsteinhorn” mountain. Everywhere you will rewarded with beautiful views. Follow your favourite, more or less demanding route, speedy or at a more leisurely pace, just as you like it. Swimming Spots

While the “Kitzsteinhorn” glacier is glittering with eternal ice and snow, you can enjoy a refreshing dip into crystal-clear waters down in the valley on hot summer days. On the beaches of Lake “Zeller See” in Schüttdorf and Thumersbach as well as on the shores the artificial lakes of Kaprun high up in the mountains you can spend an amazing day out with your family.
